SDI Board Welcomes Two New Outside Directors

New board members Paula Cushman and Ken Barnett bring formidable industry acumen to SDI Board of Directors.

PaulaKenwithcaptionSDI Chairman and CEO Pam White this week appointed Paula Cushman and Ken Barnett as outside directors to the Board of Directors. The first board meeting to include these new members was held on February 24, 2016.

Paula Cushman retired as the President of Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC, a Joint Venture of Camber Corporation and Dynetics, Inc. in May 2014, having been responsible for performance of $113M in AMCOM EXPRESS technical task orders during her final year. During her career she attained life-time certification from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) professional government contracts/subcontracts management (CPCM and CFCM). She is a private consultant to industry regarding contract management, teaming agreements, proposal development, contract and subcontract administration. She has published two articles in Contract Management Magazine related to Government contracting and has edited various instructional manuals. Among her retired activities, she is active with Leadership Huntsville/Madison County, and serves on the boards of the Women's Business Center of North Alabama, Madison Rotary Club, Wounded Blue, Madison City Disability Advocacy Board (MCDAB), Salvation Army, Madison Hospital Women's Advisory Board and is a member of the Women's Economic Development Council. 

Ken Barnett has served as Chief Financial Officer of Intergraph Government Solutions (IGS) since 2012. He is a key member of the management team providing strategic financial direction and implementation for a company with revenues in excess of $100 million. Prior to joining IGS, Barnett was President of Analytical Services Inc. (ASI) responsible for managing and growing a $60 million company as a subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC). Prior to this position he served as Chief Financial Officer of ASI and helped lead the successful sale of the company to ASRC. Prior to joining ASI, Barnett served as Vice President of Administration and Project Control Manager for SAIC’s Computer Systems Technology business unit. He directed a staff responsible for all project-related financial activity of a business unit with annual revenue in excess of $160 million per year. Barnett managed the department during a major corporate reorganization, which included combining segments of three acquired companies. Prior to his tenure at SAIC, Barnett was the Chief Financial Officer for Quality Research in Huntsville, AL, where he managed all the financial aspects of the company, a 500+ employee Government services company. He also supported the successful effort to take the company to market for an eventual acquisition by SAIC. Barnett serves as a board member for the Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County and is a member of the investment committee for the same organization.
